There are up to three warriors available and the player can choose one of them to start his journey, in which he has to save the world by defeating the antagonist and his minions. Now the antagonist is finding the Golden Axe, a magical artifact of the fantasy medieval world, and invades to demolish both the royal family and the axe to become the ruler. The evil holds the king with his daughter captive in their castle. It takes place in the fictional world called Yuria and offers an excellent, in which an evil has kidnapped the king and his beloved daughter. The game combines the elements of hack and slash and fighting elements and it is the first game in the series of Golden Axe released in 1989.
